Network Marketing Vs Small Business
By Tim Duffy

This year I met with both the SBA and the Nebraska Business Development Center, aka “The Entrepreneur Shop” in an effort to get a fantastic business model off of the ground. I must share with you that after leaving both appointments I left feeling somewhat discouraged and uncertain about the opportunity of founding a new business and becoming the next self made, homegrown, multi-millionaire.
To really open a brand new business with a brand new concept, product, and /or service is a major, major undertaking. I’m not one to back off from or take adversity personal but, the amount of information just to write a viable and marketable business plan to move forward and present to investors for seed capital rounds and subsequent venture capital rounds etc. is staggering.
Protecting your intellectual property, trademarks, articles of incorporation, l egal counsel, other financial professionals, leases, equipment, staff (if required), marketing budget so consumers know that you exist and much more is required before you can even make $1, let alone turn a profit.
USANA’s turn key opportunity just opened my eyes by reading and responding to this email. The products and business (back end) is all in place for less than the cost of a new laptop computer.
“The fortunes to be made in the years ahead will not be predominantly in physical delivery but in education – not in physical distribution, but in intellectual distribution: educating consumers about products and services that will improve their lives, but that they either don’t know about or don’t yet know are now affordable.” Paul Zane Pilzer, a world renowned economist and adviser to past US Presidents.
The Power of One-to-One Marketing!
If the recent economic events show us one lesson, that lesson would be not to keep all of our eggs in one basket; and for me staying healthy with proper nutrition will keep me competitive and sharp in an economy where only the strong will survive.

Income Disclaimer:
USD91,800 is the average yearly income for an established, full-time USANA Associate (Gold Director and above). USD23,225 is the annual average of those who earned as little as one commission check each month. Surveys show that 83% of all Associates self-report they joined USANA to “improve their health.” Of those remaining, 21% earned a check at least once a month even though 56% reported they were not joining to “replace their full-time income.” Of those that were, 41% have been Associates for at least one year and 56% are considered full time with the title of Gold Director or above. These figures shown should not be considered as guarantees or projections of your actual earnings or profits. Success with USANA results only from successful sales efforts, which require hard work, diligence, and leadership. If you include all 126,146 with the title of Associate, which includes, Associates not actively building a business (acting as wholesale buyers), Associates who just joined (as little as one day), and those who are just beginning to build their customer base, the average yearly income is still USD734.27, with more than one in three earning a check.
