Guest Speaker: Dr Christine Wood

Dr. Christine Wood is a practicing pediatrician in San Diego with special interests in preventive nutrition for children, the childhood obesity issue, and pediatric environmental health.

She is the author of the book, How to Get Kids to Eat Great & Love It and her articles and interviews have been published in Newsweek, Parenting, Parents, Baby Talk, Redbook, Fit Pregnancy, Family Life, among others.

She has been a frequent guest on television and radio.  Her website, http://www.kidseatgreat.com www.kidseatgreat.com is full of information about feeding kids in the busy world of today.

She serves as the Domain Champion for the Media and Marketing Domain for the Childhood Obesity Initiative, which addresses the childhood obesity efforts in the community of San Diego. She is a co-investigator with San Diego State University Research Foundation with a 5-year grant on obesity prevention targeting 7 to 9 year olds. 

 She is a member of the USANA Health Sciences Scientific Advisory Council.  She graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and went on to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles for her pediatric residency.  She received her certified lactation educator training at University of California San Diego.
