Question 1

“I just can’t get up the excitement I’m supposed to have about my or any MLM any more. I just don’t believe it is going to make it big where I live. My warm market is all exhausted and uninterested.

I know this is a blockage to the success of my business but if I don’t see results, how can I get enthusiastic? My upline is supportive but, in the end, I am alone with a couple of reps to inspire. Where do I even start?”

You’re simply making excuses to justify your non-involvement for another reason. It could be fear of success, fear of being judged, or self-pity… I don’t know. But in the end your reasons are not reasons at all, they are excuses. Where you live has nothing to do with anything when you have access to the internet and I’m sure that you know that.

You can make excuses or you can make money, but you can’t do both.

Enthusiasm has nothing to do with it. It’s desire. Do you think I was enthusiastic when I was living in my crappy apartment with no furniture, and waiting table for 2 years while I earned my stripes?

Of course not. I hated every moment of it, but it’s that hate and fear of failure that drove me to do whatever it took. Enthusiasm had nothing to do with it.

The last part of your question is also a concern… “I am alone with a couple of reps to inspire.”

If you want to find yourself depressed and unmotivated, keep trying to inspire your reps.

That’s no your job or your responsibility. Becoming emotionally attached or involved with your rep’s success is a recipe for disaster because 90% of the people you sponsor will end up quitting.

The good news is that you only need to find 5 to 10 who won’t.  They are the people who produce and they never need your inspiration… Just a great example to follow.

Be that example and you’ve won.

“The network marketing company that I’ve gotten into, which is ********, has very strict policies and procedures. Is the book going to tell me to do a bunch of stuff I’m not going to be allowed to do?”

I’ve written about this before and it still drives me nuts.

Why in the world would you choose to build a business with a company that doesn’t allow you to advertise when they are plenty that will?

It’s like you were given a set of rules to follow and you’ve just decided to accept them by default. I don’t know if this stems from a past employee mentality or what, but it doesn’t make any sense at all from a business standpoint.

You need to evaluate and join an opportunity based on actual business criteria, and not just because you think it’s a good idea or because you like the products.

This is marketing business. Remove the handcuffs. Find another company that will actually let you market and you’re taking one giant leap towards success

Question 3

“Why is it that you still have people who don’t trust this business? Why and what about it do they see wrong that we see right? How could people let this kind of opportunity go.”

Here’s the real question… Why are you emotionally attached to their opinions and views?

Why do you care what they see or don’t see?

Why do you care what they say or do?

What do those people have to do with your life, your future, and your prosperity in any way at all?

Why are you wasting your time and emotional energy worry about what they think?

It just doesn’t matter.

Period.

You see, it takes ALL kinds of people to make the world go round.

When it comes to your pursuit to be an entrepreneur, 90% will NEVER agree with you, share your views, or support you.

Why?

Because entrepreneurs are leaders, and leaders only make up 10% of any given society.

The rest will either follow you because they aspire to be like you or have what you have, or they will resent you because they believe they can’t have it or don’t deserve it.

The bottom line is that you’re focusing on something that is completely irrelevant and just doesn’t matter at all.

When you’re finally willing to just let these people go… Just let them be who they are. You’ll start to attract others who are like you and see the world the way that you see it.

You’ll become a member of our growing little club where the world is filled with limitless possibility and abundance.

Let them be grumpy and wallow in self-doubt, pity, and fear.

The best thing you could ever do for them is to live out your life to it’s fullest potential, and the only way to do that is to approach your life without fearing what others say or think about you.

They are here to test you and to bring down the weak who dare to achieve great things.

So how do you win?

Easy…

Ignore them. They disappear

“Hi Mike my name is Tony and how do you get people to switch from typical shopping to catalog shopping or online?”

You don’t.

One of the hardest things in the world to do is to change the buying habits of a person.

That’s why all the big “internet malls” that plagued this industry during the .com boom fell on their faces.

You don’t try to change someone’s habits, you cater to their current ones.

That’s Marketing 101.

Could you imagine trying to get the average person who’s been shopping at the same grocery store for 10 years to start buying their food online?

It would never happen.

People are creatures of comfort and habit. It’s a safety instinct.

Trying to push someone out of that zone into new, unknown territory is, on an instinctual level, a very uncomfortable experience that has the potential to put them at risk in some way.

Find out what they do now, and just enhance that experience. Cater to their habits.

If you build your business correctly, follow the simple, duplicatable, system, you can set you and your family up with a serious, residual income for the rest of your life.

That’s about all that I can remember hearing, almost 4 years ago, when I joined Network Marketing, for the first time! I was so excited! I couldn’t wait to get out and tell all my friends about how they could save and make all this money! But, wait a second… I wasn’t thinking about following the simple system that my friends used to introduce me to the business! I just had to tell someone about what I had my hands on!

I remember listening to an audio cassette tape by one of my mentors, Robert Fason, and hearing him say, “If you’re not doing to your friends, what they can go do to their friends, your business will not grow to where you want it to. It’ll still be dependent on you 10 years from now.” After listening to that cassette, over and over, and finally understanding what it means now, this “duplication” concept is really hitting home to me. That phrase keeps playing over and over in my mind, and I realize now, that by running out and telling my friends all about what I’d just found, I was ruining their chances at ever being successful. Now, almost 4 years later, after realizing what I did to them, and really getting back to the basics of the business, some of my friends are paying more attention to what I’m doing.

I keep telling myself, “No matter how bad you want to just tell them about everything that’s going on, you have got to keep it, fun, simple, magical and duplicatable.”

It’s pretty exciting to hear that people like, Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, and Warren Buffet, are really promoting this industry right now! Just knowing that has to make you feel really good inside, even when your “best friend or brother-in-law” is out telling everyone, everything they “know”, doesn’t it?

So, the simple, yet often misunderstood word, Duplication, is all that more important to understand, knowing that big-dogs like those guys, know what we know, right?

That’s why the title to this article, When the Dust Settles, was chosen. In my opinion, that’s one of the main reasons many Network Marketers fail, before they ever really begin in their quest with each of their respective businesses! They run out, tell everyone they know about their new-found opportunity, don’t follow the duplicatable system that their Network Marketing business already had established for them, and most of their friends and family shut them down, before they ever get to check out the facts, and see all the details for themselves. Now, I finally understand why and how to keep what we do, duplicatable.

As another of my mentors and good friend, Matt Parr, says, “A leader of one can someday be a leader of many, but if he can’t lead one… he probably won’t ever lead any.”

How bad do you want time and financial freedom for you and your family? When you hear things like a 6-figure, residual income for the rest of your life, what does hearing that do inside of you? Hopefully it gets you so jacked up, you can’t wait to tell everyone you know about the exciting opportunity you have your hands on, the right way!

It still just absolutely blows my mind that how just helping a few “key people” and keeping it duplicatable can create such an awesome lifestyle change for so many people we know!

Never before, in my lifetime, have I ever seen or heard of more people that are looking to make a change in their lives! We are so lucky to be in the industry that we are in, because we have what everyone is looking for… they just don’t know we have it! So… let’s get out there and change as many people’s lives as we possibly can!

Dream big and realize that anything you want in your life can be yours! Just be brave enough to stick your head up above the crowd, go against the flow, and get ready to achieve all your Dreams and Goals!

Chad Bumgarner is a 29 year old from Strang, Nebraska (Population… 32 people). Chad is currently working on their family farm with his father, Tom, but has big plans for his Network Marketing business, along with several other projects that he’s working on.

The key to long-term success in network marketing is duplication.  This occurs only if you and your systems are duplicatable.  Are they?  Could anyone join your team, copy what you are doing and be successful?

If the answer is yes, then you can skip this article. Otherwise, continue on as we discuss building a system of duplication. 

First is the way your business is set-up.  Network marketing is designed to be a home-based business. If you’re using or contemplating an office or training center, this is not duplicatable.  Although it seems more business-like, your prospective distributors will look at your set-up and decide they can¹t do your business. I remember an entire company that required leaders to set up a training facility. The company did well for awhile, but are now out of business.  So, make sure that you have a home-based office set-up that any one could duplicate. 

Second, are your marketing methods – Are you doing massive advertising, e-mail marketing, or direct mail?  Again, this may be effective, but it¹s not duplicatable.  The average distributor will not be able to afford your system.  If you’re going to use mass marketing, make sure that you also have systems for the average distributor. I remember a top income earner who built her business passing out opportunity cards in the business district. Another who conducted face-to-face surveys.  Also, remember that over 80% of the people who join network marketing companies are sponsored by someone they know, so don’t forget the warm market methods also. 

Third, are your presentations – Are you so smooth and knowledgeable that the new distributor would feel they could never do a presentation? I often think of a top network marketer who started out giving presentations in holey jeans (because that’s all he had to wear) and today he’s a top income earner. To make your business presentation easily duplicatable, start using DVD’s, overhead slides, or flip charts.  Stick with information that is readily available to the average distributor.  It’s even best is you don’t do all of the presentation. Start including others in your presentations and you’ll see quicker duplication. 

The more duplicatable your business, marketing, and presentations, the quicker your network (and income) will grow.

Hi Networkers,  

Millions of people are jumping onto Multi-Level Marketing but very few are actually becoming successful from it. Why is there such a poor response rate from these programs and opportunities?

The reason why most people have problems with their network marketing business is because they don’t truly understand how the industry works. Often, this is because they were sold a pack of lies from some company that reeled them in on false hopes and promises. It’s a classic scam; you’re told a lot of promises in the beginning about what a great opportunity it is, how you don’t need any experience to begin with and you will be have a residual income working hard for the first few years. However, once you begin the program, you find you will face many challenges and realise that there is no truth in it.  

Did you know that 95% of people who get into network marketing have no prior sales experience? This leads to serious difficulties as networking marketing does involve selling and marketing, regardless of what some MLM distributors may have said to you to get you to sign up. This is one of the biggest mistakes that people make in network marketing. They think the product will “sell itself” while they just share the company and products information.

Another common mistake is to think you will be able to sell to your friends and family. Many networking marketing or MLM programs encourage you to share these great opportunities with your friends and family when in reality, your friends and family may not even want or like the product. If you do make sales, it may only be from people that feel obligated or are just giving it a try to get you off their backs. Don’t depend on your family and friends to make you rich from an MLM program. Even if they are kind enough to buy from you, chances are you won’t become a millionaire from this way.    

I am not saying the traditional network marketing ways do not work. They have their place and importance. In fact, word of mouth has the best publicity. Nevertheless, what most networkers do when they run out of warm market contacts, is to buy leads from lead generation companies. I was in that situation and tired of buying leads for my network marketing business. Those leads were not exclusive and the lead companies sell their leads many times over to many of their customers. What is most annoying is that many of those leads were opportunity seekers.

The fact is true MLM success comes from MLM training, experience, expertise and even practice. Can you make a good living from it? Sure, you can. Can you be highly rich and successful? In time, yes you can. But don’t expect it to be an overnight miracle success. And don’t think that you can achieve this without some work involved. If network marketing is so simple that anyone could do it and products sold themselves, wouldn’t we all be millionaires? 

I just want you to understand that if you’re not creating a constant flow of leads day in and day out or if you’re not putting your business in front of 5 to 10 people a day, your dream will remain just a dream.

What about all the success stories you hear in your company? One way or another, they found a way to be in front of lots of prospects EVERY day passively. How? They either leveraged other people on their teams or from their systems. 

Building a business online is so much more effective. You can be in front of thousands of people in a short period of time. That means your customer list keeps growing, every minute without you. Yes, to begin it will take great effort and time in creating your capture page, sales letters, follow-up emails but you only do this once.

Now that’s leverage.  

Are you envious of all those people who make a living using the internet? Please don’t. You can have what they have achieved if you are willing to give it a go. Building online business is not rocket science although it has a bit of art and science to it. There is a solution to your lack of prospects to talk with in your primary business.
