What is capability? What can you do? What is “can”?
by David Cameron Gikandi

You say, “I wish I could do that. But I can’t.”

Sometimes the thing you desire seems most evasive and elusive to
you. You may seem to think that you need money or something else
that is external to you for you to be able to achieve your desire.

And because this external thing is away from you and you don’t have
it, you think that you are doomed because even that seems elusive.
So you are stuck in a vicious circle. You accept that, you fear it.

But before you accept something that has absolutely no value to
you, take another look. Fear is a thing we are conditioned to
accept without question, yet it has absolutely no value. Next time
you accept fear, ask yourself what value it really has for you.

Escape is not a value. There is nowhere to run. Eventually, you
will be found and you will have to face yourself. Running away
from a problem is an idea that stems from the illusion that there
is a you with a problem, and a you that can escape the you with
the problem.

Insane? Yep!

The first step to getting out of a problem is knowing and accepting
that you are the problem, and then you become the solution. Nothing
outside changes, but as you change, a new outside replaces the old.

The law of attraction and the law of cause and effect work this way.
For now, let us define capability. What is “can”?

Everyone has things that they can do now that they could not do
before. You can now walk while as a child you could not. The ground
never changed, but you did. You can now read while you once could
not. The English language never changed, but you did.

At one time, Jesus could not perform miracles, then he did. Miracles
did not change, Jesus did. At one time the Buddha was not
enlightened,
then he was. The ways of the universe did not change, the Buddha did.

Do you get the picture? There are a million things that a person
can do now that they could not do years ago. Why?

It is never those things that changed. What changed was the idea
that this person had of himself or herself. Have you seen the movie
The Matrix? When Neo changed his idea of himself, he was able to do
the undoable. It is so with everyone.

So what is “can”? What is capability? It is nothing more than a
shift in what you think you are. What You Really Are is a being
with infinite possibilities. Everyone is.

We are all literally an idea. As such, success is not something we
can chase and get, it is something that we attract by the persons
we become. We become those persons by changing the idea of what we
think we are.

The problem is not with the world. The problem, if there is one,
is with your recognition of yourself and your world. The way you
perceive and interpret yourself and your world is a system. Change
that system, through seeking new truths, and you change your world.

To put it in another way, on earth you are a being that has
experiences. These experiences are determined by your thoughts,
which are determined by your perceptions.

And these experiences are experienced through perception. It is
a cycle. The key here is that perception is a learnt system. You
learned your own way of perception as you grew up. Whatever you
accepted as true from your parents, friends, teachers, and so on,
is what builds your framework of perception.

Perception is a learned system. You learn it, and you can just as
easily unlearn it. You unlearn it by replacing it with a new system,
and you get a new system by seeking new truths from books, guides,
your higher self, and so on.

The world that you perceive is perceived differently by the next
guy. We are all seeing an illusion, an interpretation of energy
activity that we are the creators of. The Real world is seen
through vision, not perception.

And vision only comes when you finally drop all your judgment of
what you see, when you let it tell you what it is instead of you
saying what it is. But that is another story all together.

You are in charge of “can”, and no one else. People can tell you
that you can’t, all day long, until they grow hoarse and lose their
voices. It will have absolutely zero effect on you. Unless you
accept it. What did you accept as a child? Do you like it? No?
Then un-accept it. Change. Re-create yourself. Have a new idea of
who you are!

By Denis Waitley

A good way to think of leadership is the process of freeing your team members to do the best work they possibly can. I have followed NBA basketball coach Phil Jackson’s career.

Like Phil Jackson who moved from the record setting Chicago Bulls to the Los Angeles Lakers. Jackson says his principal task is creating an environment in which his players can flourish. In communicating with his championship teams, Jackson convinced them that they had the talent to win championships, and that the main goal of the coach was going to be freeing them to use that talent.

Today’s business team members, say they want, more than anything else, the autonomy to do their jobs without the boss’s interference. In the new century, it’s already clear that the CEOs of our best-run companies believe that the more power leaders have, the less they should use.

The job of the team leader is to set a mission, decide upon a strategic direction, achieve the necessary cooperation, delegate authority — and then let people innovate. To do that we all could take a hint from the late football coach, Paul “Bear” Bryant. Before his retirement as one of the leading coaches in college football history at Alabama, Bryant observed:

I’m just a plowhand from Arkansas, but I’ve learned how to put and hold a team together. I’ve learned how to lift some individuals up and how to calm others down, until finally they’ve got one heartbeat together, as a team. To do that, there’s just three things I’d ever have to say: If anything went wrong, I did it. If it went semi-good, then we did it. If anything went real good, then you did it! That’s really all it takes to get other people to win for you.

The key to authentic leadership is to listen to your followers, and then open the door for them to lead themselves. The secret is empowerment. The main incentive is genuine caring and recognition.

The five most important words a leader can speak are: “I am proud of you.”
The four most important are: “What is your opinion?”
The three most important are: “If you please.”
The two most important are: “Thank You.”
And the most important single word of all is: “You!”

1 July 2008

The process of human change begins within us. We all have tremendous potential. We all desire good results from our efforts. Most of us are willing to work hard and to pay the price that success and happiness demand.

Each of us has the ability to put our unique human potential into action and to acquire a desired result. But the one thing that determines the level of our potential, that produces the intensity of our activity, and that predicts the quality of the result we receive is our attitude.

Attitude determines how much of the future we are allowed to see. It decides the size of our dreams and influences our determination when we are faced with new challenges. No other person on earth has dominion over our attitude. People can affect our attitude by teaching us poor thinking habits or unintentionally misinforming us or providing us with negative sources of influence, but no one can control our attitude unless we voluntarily surrender that control.

No one else “makes us angry.” We make ourselves angry when we surrender control of our attitude. What someone else may have done is irrelevant. We choose, not they. They merely put our attitude to a test. If we select a volatile attitude by becoming hostile, angry, jealous or suspicious, then we have failed the test. If we condemn ourselves by believing that we are unworthy, then again, we have failed the test.

If we care at all about ourselves, then we must accept full responsibility for our own feelings. We must learn to guard against those feelings that have the capacity to lead our attitude down the wrong path and to strengthen those feelings that can lead us confidently into a better future.

If we want to receive the rewards the future holds in trust for us, then we must exercise the most important choice given to us as members of the human race by maintaining total dominion over our attitude. Our attitude is an asset, a treasure of great value, which must be protected accordingly. Beware of the vandals and thieves among us who would injure our positive attitude or seek to steal it away.

Having the right attitude is one of the basics that success requires. The combination of a sound personal philosophy and a positive attitude about ourselves and the world around us gives us an inner strength and a firm resolve that influences all the other areas of our existence.

25 June 2008

One of the major reasons why we fail to find happiness or to create unique lifestyle is because we have not yet mastered the art of being.

While we are home our thoughts are still absorbed with solving the challenges we face at the office. And when we are at the office we find ourselves worrying about problems at home.

We go through the day without really listening to what others are saying to us. We may be hearing the words, but we aren’t absorbing the message. As we go through the day we find ourselves focusing on past experiences or future possibilities.

We are so involved in yesterday and tomorrow that we never even notice that today is slipping by. We go through the day rather than getting something from the day we are everywhere at any given moment in time except living in that moment in time.

Lifestyle is learning to be wherever you are, it is developing a unique focus on the current moment, and drawing from it all of the substance and wealth of experience and emotions that it has to offer.

Lifestyle is taking time to watch a sunset. Lifestyle is listening to silence. Lifestyle is capturing each moment so that it becomes a new part of what we are and of what we are in the process of becoming. Lifestyle is not something we do; it is something experience.

And until we learn to be there, we will never master the art of living well.

Wow! In one of my articles, I spoke about Leadership and Marketing is a key to build your Network Marketing business. I read a lot and always try my best to deliver excellent material through this Attraction Marketing blog.

But what does Leadership really mean? Today, I found Jim Rohn really hit a chord on Leadership. Read and discover for yourself the secret to becoming a leader. The Great Leadership Challenge by Jim Rohn If you want to be a leader who attracts quality people, the key is to become a person of quality yourself.
Leadership is the ability to attract someone to the gifts, skills, and opportunities you offer as an owner, as a manager, as a parent. What’s important in leadership is refining your skills. All great leaders keep working on themselves until they become effective. Here are some specifics: 1. Learn to be strong but not impolite. It is an extra step you must take to become a powerful, capable leader with a wide range of reach. Some people mistake rudeness for strength. It’s not even a good substitute.
  2. Learn to be kind but not weak.

We must not mistake weakness for kindness. Kindness isn’t weak. Kindness is a certain type of strength. We must be kind enough to tell someone the truth. We must be kind enough and considerate enough to lay it on the line. We must be kind enough to tell it like it is and not deal in delusion.

3. Learn to be bold but not a bully.

It takes boldness to win the day. To build your influence, you’ve got to walk in front of your group. You’ve got to be willing to take the first arrow, tackle the first problem, and discover the first sign of trouble. Like the farmer, if you want any rewards at harvest time, you have got to be bold and face the weeds and the rain and the bugs straight on. You’ve got to seize the moment.

4. You’ve got to learn to be humble but not timid.

You can’t get to the high life by being timid. Some people mistake timidity for humility. But humility is a virtue; timidity is a disease. It’s an affliction. It can be cured, but it is a problem.Humility is almost a God-like word. A sense of awe. A sense of wonder. An awareness of the human soul and spirit. An understanding that there is something unique about the human drama versus the rest of life.

Humility is a grasp of the distance between us and the stars, yet having the feeling that we’re part of the stars.

5. Learn to be proud but not arrogant.

It takes pride to build your ambitions. It takes pride in your community. It takes pride in a cause, in accomplishment. But the key to becoming a good leader is to be proud without being arrogant. Do you know the worst kind of arrogance? Arrogance from ignorance. It’s intolerable. If someone is smart and arrogant, we can tolerate that. But if someone is ignorant and arrogant, that’s just too much to take.

6. Learn to develop humour without folly.

In leadership, we learn that it is okay to be witty but not silly; fun but not foolish.

7. Learn to deal in realities.

Deal in truth. Save yourself the agony of delusion. Just accept life as it is. Life is unique. The whole drama of life is unique. It’s fascinating.Life is unique. Leadership is unique. The skills that work well for one leader may not work at all for another. However, the fundamental skills of leadership can be adopted to work well for just about everyone: at work, in the community, and at home.

If you think the way successful people think and adopt their success habits, you too can be successful. Here are seven qualities of the top 1% of successful people.

1) They are Ambitious.
They see themselves capable of being the best. They see themselves with the capacity of being really good at what they do. This was a really big thought for me. It held me back for many years. When I saw people who were doing better than I was, I naturally assumed they were better than I was. And if they were better than I was, then I must be worse than them, so that would mean they were superior and I was inferior. That is a big problem in our society. We have feelings of inferiority, and these feelings of inferiority are often translated into feelings of unreservedness. We don’t feel we deserve to be a big success. The word “deserve” comes from two Latin words meaning “from service.” You deserve 100% of everything you make and enjoy as long as you get it from serving other people. Your rewards are in direct proportion to your service. If you serve better and serve more and serve at a higher level and serve more enthusiastically and serve a higher quality, then you’ll have a wonderful income you’ll deserve every penny of it. You must see yourself capable of being the best.

2) They are Courageous.
They work to confront the fears that hold most people back. The two biggest enemies to yours and my success are fear and doubt. Eliminating fear and doubt is the key. The key to eliminating fear: If you want to develop courage, then simply act courageously when it’s called for. When you do something repeatedly, you develop a habit. Make a habit throughout your life of doing the things you fear. If you do the thing you fear, the death of fear is certain. To overcome fear of rejection in prospecting, you must realize that rejection in selling is not personal. Top salespeople do not fear prospecting. Face your fear. Do the things you fear. The ability to confront your fear is the mark of the superior person. If you have high ambition and you decide to be in the top 10%, and you can confront your fears and do the things that are holding you back, those two things alone will make you a great success.

3) They are Committed.
The top people in every field, especially the top salespeople, are completely committed. They believe in themselves; they believe in their companies; they believe in their products and services; they believe in their customers; they have an intense belief. We know that there is a one-to-one relationship between the depth of your belief and what happens in your reality. And if you absolutely believe in the rightness and the goodness of what you’re doing, you become like a catalyst. You create what is called a transfer, like an electrical transfer of enthusiasm. People like to buy from people who truly believe in what they are doing. People who are not committed to what they do lead very empty lives. The second part is that caring is the critical element in modern selling. Caring is a critical element in life, as well. All men and women who enjoy great lives care about what they do! They have passion about what they do. They love what they do.

4) They are Professional.
Top salespeople see themselves as consultants rather than as salespeople. When you think of the word “consultant,” what words come to mind? When do you call a consultant? A consultant is a problem-solver. What word does not appear when you think of a consultant–the word “salesperson”? We don’t think of consultants as salespeople. The most successful consultants in America are the very best salespeople of their services. When a person is positioned as a consultant in the mind and heart of the customer, he is not seen as a salesperson. Do people like to be sold? Do people like to be helped to improve their lives and work? So they look upon a salesperson as someone who sells them. Selling is something you do “to” someone, and people don’t like to be done “to”. So when you think of being a consultant, here is the key. How do you position yourself as a consultant with your customers? Of course, you act like a consultant, but even before you get the chance to act like a consultant, you build a rapport. And the simplest answer of all and this is the most profound principle: People accept you at your own evaluation of yourself. Consultants come in and have a cup of coffee. Salespeople wait in the waiting room and have a glass of water. If you say you’re a consultant, your customer will accept you as a consultant. >From now on, position yourself as a consultant. Think of yourself as a consultant. Remember, 80% of what you accomplish on the outside is determined by who you are on the inside. How you see yourself determines how the customer responds to you. The customer’s perception of you determines how much they buy and how much they recommend you to other customers.
5) They are Prepared.
They review every detail in advance. To be in the top 10% requires additional efforts. It requires doing things that the average person is not willing to do. It requires making sacrifices the average person is not willing to make. It requires reviewing every detail of every call or situation before every business meeting. But the difference it makes is extraordinary. Before you go into a meeting, do your homework. Successful people are more concerned about pleasing results than they are about pleasing methods. When you sit down with a client, there is nothing more complimentary to a client than the feeling that you have prepared for the meeting.6) They are Continuous Learners.
They recognize that if they’re not continually getting better, they’re getting worse. They read, they listen to CDs and they take additional training. The professional never stops learning. So read, listen to CDs, and take continuous training.7) They are Responsible.
They see themselves as President of their own personal services corporation. The top people in our society have an attitude of self-employed. 100% of us are self-employed. We are presidents of our own personal services corporation. You work for yourself. The biggest mistake we can ever make is to think we work for anyone else. We work for ourselves. The person who signs our pay check may change; our jobs may change, but we are always the same. We are the one constant–we are always self-employed. The fact of the matter is — this is not optional, it is mandatory — you are the president of your own company, you’re the president of your own career, your own life, your own finances, your own body, your own family, your own health. You are totally responsible. We are responsible. No one will ever do it for us. It’s the most liberating and exhilarating thought of all, to think that you’re the president of your own life.

A Word From Brian Tracy:”I really consider The Success Mastery Academy one of my all-time, best programs. Kyle Wilson and I sat down and said if we could condense everything that we’ve learned on leadership, communication, setting goals, selling, negotiation, financial independence, etc. — all the different subjects that people needed to know to be really successful — what would they be? So we worked together. I spent many, many months writing this program and created a workbook that went with it. It covers time, money, relationships, leadership, family, every type of communications, self esteem, personal growth, secrets of self made millionaires, setting goals — 16 subjects in all. We put it all together into a two-day live event and then I gave it to thousands of people all over the country and it just literally blew people away. And then we took the four best recordings, from our two day seminars, 16 hours each, and spent 6 months combining the very best sessions from each of these four seminars, into a seminar that is virtually a personal treat on personal success and achievement. I truly consider the SMA a masterpiece!”
1 February 2008

Each of us has two distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives. The first choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To earn less. To have less. To read less and think less. To try less and discipline ourselves less. These are the choices that lead to an empty life. These are the choices that, once made, lead to a life of constant apprehension instead of a life of wondrous anticipation.

And the second choice? To do it all! To become all that we can possibly be. To read every book that we possibly can. To earn as much as we possibly can. To give and share as much as we possibly can. To strive and produce and accomplish as much as we possibly can. All of us have the choice.

To do or not to do. To be or not to be. To be all or to be less or to be nothing at all.

Like the tree, it would be a worthy challenge for us all to stretch upward and outward to the full measure of our capabilities. Why not do all that we can, every moment that we can, the best that we can, for as long as we can?

Our ultimate life objective should be to create as much as our talent and ability and desire will permit. To settle for doing less than we could do is to fail in this worthiest of undertakings.

Results are the best measurement of human progress. Not conversation. Not explanation. Not justification. Results! And if our results are less than our potential suggests that they should be, then we must strive to become more today than we were the day before. The greatest rewards are always reserved for those who bring great value to themselves and the world around them as a result of who and what they have become.

“When you are just starting out in an MLM business, how do you respond to a prospect asking you how much money you’ve made, or how successful you’ve been so far, when you’ve only been with the company for a month or two and you’re working on getting your first sale?”

“When you are just starting out in an MLM business, how do you respond to a prospect asking you how much money you’ve made, or how successful you’ve been so far, when you’ve only been with the company for a month or two and you’re working on getting your first sale?”
I think it’s safe to say that everyone’s been in this position at one time or another.

You’ve just started your new venture. You’re excited and probably a bit anxious.

Maybe you’ve really put the pressure on yourself to make this happen in a big way.

But, you’re still brand new without any results to point to when you start prospecting.

Well the good news is that there’s obviously a solution to this challenge, or no one would ever make it because we all started from ground-zero.

Now there’s a bullet-proof answer to this question. It comes straight from the audios of Black Belt Recruiting and I’m going to share it with you here today so you can start using it immediately.

But there’s a more important issue here than a simple “come-back” line and here’s it is…

There are two choices: You can either use the line I’m about to give you, – OR – you can never have this question asked in the first place.

You see, your prospect doesn’t really care about the answer to this question.

They’re just asking it to test you.

They want to see if you’re a leader or not. They want to find out if you’ll cave under the pressure of a revealing question and they want to see how you handle yourself in that situation.

If they’ve already come to the conclusion that you’re NOT a leader, they’ll ask that question to then justify their non-involvement. They use it as an excuse to end the conversation.

A real leader or Alpha Networker, doesn’t answer that question. They don’t supplicate to their prospects because they don’t NEED this person.

As they see the world, this prospect needs THEM which means they are 100% in control of the situation. They hold all of the power, they ask the questions, and they determine the direction of the conversation.

Once you adopt the confidence and qualities of an Alpha Networker, they stop asking these questions. You simply don’t have to deal with it any more.

The key to making this happen is having posture and confidence from the very first contact.

If you express these qualities correctly, they accept the reality that you are a leader and will rarely test you.

People see you as you see yourself. If you are completely congruent with the concept of confident leadership, they will automatically accept that as well.

So the REAL fix to this problem is found in self-development.

The temporary fix is found in this line which I pulled from the Black Belt Recruiting Course. (Not available at this time).

Are you ready?

Ok, here it is…

“Bob that’s a great question, but unfortunately we can’t answer that because the corporate office considers it enticement and I’d lose my business if they found out. (this is true for all companies by the way)

I can tell you this though…

If I wasn’t completely content with my XXXXX business, I wouldn’t be on the phone with you and I wouldn’t be with the company”.

Now you’ll want to put these lines into your own words, but it’s very effective for two reasons…

First, we use the old copywriting trick called “reason why”, which simply means that people will accept just about any excuse as long as you provide them with a reason why.

Second, we backup that vague statement with logic… “I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t worth my time”, which is a pretty hard statement to argue with.

Now at this point, you must take back control of the conversation by asking them a question, or giving a direction.

That’s all there is to it when it comes to the band-aid fix.

If you’d rather learn how to adopt and internalize the traits of an “Alpha Networker” in the pages of of Magnetic Sponsoring.

The entire first chapter is dedicated to helping you understand the psychology behind the leadership dynamics and personality traits which turn “AFN’s” (Average Frustrated Networkers) into “Alpha Networkers” who sponsor new distributors at will.

If you haven’t picked up a copy yet, this is information you do not want to miss which is why I’ll even let you review it risk-free, for a full year. If it doesn’t exceed your expectations, just send it back for a full, no-questions-asked refund. Click here to get your copy today.
