Network Marketing alias Relationship Marketing is not about making a fortune as many business presentations show you the unlimited seamless potential earnings. Of course, that could happen but from my observation, only a small percentage of entrepreneurs achieved it.</p>
<p>This business is much more about you joining the organisation to be coached on achieving a TEAM LEADER position which means you have motivated members in your business to work with. By focusing on the duplication process, this will enable you to coach your team members to achieve their TEAM LEADER positions too in your business organisation. This in turn generates income for your business based on leveraging your work with your teams to consume and move products to as many people as possible via the Internet and or face to face contacts.</p>
<p>That is why most of the networking trainings are focused on the “WINS” Formula to build a winning (active) team.</p>
<p>The “WINS” stands for:<br />
“W” &#8211; Know your “WHY” for doing the business. Be passionate about your “WHY”, and always keep it in mind.<br />
“I” &#8211; “INITIATE” meaningful and productive actions to help you reach your plans and goals. Only you can make it happen for yourself.<br />
“N” &#8211; “NETWORK” with others &#8211; prospects, other USANA Distributors, other network marketers. Share information and ideas. You’ll be amazed at what will flow back to you.<br />
“S” &#8211; Be a “STUDENT” of the network marketing business. Read, watch, learn and absorb everything you can. Share your knowledge with others to help them succeed and to insure your own success.</p>

<p>Unlike nearly every other business on the planet, there are effectively no joining restrictions. We do not prejudge, interview or &#8216;qualify&#8217; potential people joining our team.</p>
<p>The financial entry cost is so low [i.e. less than $1000] that the ONLY motivation for the new entrant to take action is the desire to products results. There is no &#8216;negative&#8217; motivation like the potential loss of a $100,000 investment.</p>
<p>Our claim is that &#8216;everyone can do this&#8217;.<br />
They joined so they obviously wanted to &#8216;do this&#8217;.<br />
So why do some people claim that &#8216;one third of new people do zero, one third do so little and one third is where the money is earn&#8217;? It does not make sense.</p>
<p>The reason people take action is because they believe that the investment of time, effort, money AND REPUTATION is worth the reward. They will evaluate the chance of success versus the cost/risk of failure.</p>
<p>They will &#8216;invest to ACHIEVE&#8217; when they can understand [CONCEIVE] what is the investment/reward and BELIEVE they can [and are willing to] do what is required.</p>
<p>So many leaders think this is about believing you can make a fortune&#8230;its not!</p>
<p>This is about 98% of people discovering exactly what is required [actually the work] to achieve a TEAM leader position; their belief that they can do the work and want to do the work.</p>
<p>Most organisations do not explain what is required in enough detail to be understood or believed and thus most of the people joining never take enough action to succeed [if any.]</p>
<p>If you DO NOT satisfy this quote for new people less that 10% will take enough action which actually means your business does not work or growth produced will not last.</p>

I think the underlying cause is it is too easy to join a network company. One of the greatest benefits of this business is the low joining investment. There is no big financial hurdle like most other businesses.</p>
<p>Everyone can &#8216;have a go&#8217; in Network Marketing.<br />
 <br />
However, one of the greatest nightmares of this business of low joining investment is that people can quit quite easily. People join and &#8216;have a go&#8217; and then quit not long after that. Wasting an enormous amount of your time.<br />
 <br />
Success as a business builder requires a clear, consistent and committed investment to learn. New and old distributors are required to master skills and learn through coaching sessions and practice in the field as you earn. We continue to learn and apply new skills and techniques. In the early stages of building a business, the income may be unreliable and minute amount. You have just a small team that doesn&#8217;t seem to grow and thus you don&#8217;t have the leverage of creating wealth. That is when things get tough.<br />
 <br />
As the sponsor, your most important investment is your time. If you do not know how to eliminate the &#8216;time-wasters&#8217; quickly and professionally, you have a major challenge!</p>

<p>Remember in school when we didn’t turn in our homework?  What’s the best and most widely used excuse? </p>
<p>&#8220;The dog ate my homework&#8221;. Of course it helped if you had a dog.</p>
<p>When a new distributor gets involved in Network Marketing, it just seems that self-development and motivational information becomes a BIG part of the process, and yes, there is a process to becoming successful. </p>
<p>Why is that?</p>
<p>We have to have a dream.  That dream has to be BIGGER than paying off the credit card bill, paying off the mortgage, getting out of debt.  Successful Network Marketing Leaders say &#8220;Your dream has to be bigger than yourself&#8221;.  Some call it our &#8220;WHY&#8221;. </p>
<p>Having credit card bills, the mortgage, being in debt are common.  It’s great to dream of being financially free, but some people will accept the common-ness of the majority.  And if we are brutally honest, the majority of people live in and with debt; they may not like it, but are willing to accept their status quo.  There’s little effort to put forth.  It’s the easier path.</p>
<p>So why do affiliates quit building their home based business?  Why do they become a distributor today and then quit 3 days, 3 months, 2 years down the road?  As several of my mentors have said over and over again….. &#8220;Any excuse will do.&#8221;</p>
<p>Here are some I’m sure we’ve all heard:</p>
<p>1.  The Products are too expensive<br />
2.  I can’t get anybody to join<br />
3.  It’s too hard<br />
4.  I don’t have anybody to talk to<br />
5.  My sponsor won’t return my calls<br />
6.  My sponsor won’t help me<br />
7.  My sponsor won’t put anyone under me<br />
8.  My products didn’t come on time<br />
9.  The label on the product was crooked<br />
10. Another team mate hurt my feelings<br />
11.  I don’t have time<br />
12.  I’m too tired<br />
13.  My car broke down.  I can’t get to the meetings<br />
14.  I can’t afford the gas to go to the meetings<br />
15.  I can’t get anyone to go to the meetings<br />
16.  I don’t like the products<br />
17.  I’m just not lucky<br />
18.  I didn’t realize it was going to take so long<br />
19.  Nobody told me I had to ……<br />
20.  My spouse doesn’t support me<br />
21.  My friends say it’s a pyramid scheme<br />
22.  Network marketing doesn’t really work <br />
23.  I’ve been in since ….   and still haven’t made any money.<br />
24. …………………. (What’s your excuse- you fill in the blank)<br />
This is just the tip of the iceberg and I’m sure if you’ve been a leader in Network Marketing any length of time, you’ve heard some real lu-lus yourself.</p>
<p>Can we over-come all these objections/excuses to keep a distributor or affiliate in the game long enough to see success? </p>
<p>No and we shouldn’t try.  Some people just quit and that’s what they do best. </p>
<p>We can’t motivate others who are not motivated already.</p>
<p>We can’t force someone to have dreams and desires bigger than what they can see today, right now in this moment. </p>
<p>We can’t force, convince or motivate our fellow distributors to want something they don’t really want long enough to stay the course.</p>
<p>So, did the Dog Eat Your Homework? Any excuse will do.</p>
<p>Therefore, it pays to recruit and work with motivated entrepreneurs.</p>
<p>And you have to learn how to run professional coaching sessions and coach them to duplicate the business system.<br />

Network marketing is a business of making contact with others, learning what their concerns and needs are, and then sharing information with them about how, in this case, USANA can be the solution for their concerns and needs. Social media provides an excellent way to accomplish these steps with a large number of people, whether they live across the street, across the country or around the world, on a 24-7 basis.</p>
<p>Our social media strategy is to establish a friendly, yet professional, presence on various social media. We share information about ourselves so that people can learn more about who we are and feel that they know us as people instead of just an online user name. We also post information and ideas (not necessarily related to USANA) that others can find to be of interest or benefit to them so that they think of us as a caring, helpful resource that they can be comfortable in communicating with.</p>
<p>As a result, we have had success in introducing the USANA products and business plan to contacts we have made on social media sites, which have resulted in retail sales, PC enrollments and Associate enrollments.</p>
<p>While we certainly make it clear that we are USANA Associates by including that information in background and biographical sections of our social media profiles, we are very careful not to post blatant advertising and solicitations in our messages. Such “spamming” is a turn-off to most people, and will severely damage your credibility quickly. Just as you would not walk up to a complete stranger on the street and ask them to sign up with you in USANA, you shouldn’t show up in a social media community and immediately start soliciting for customers or business partners.</p>
<p>Over the years, USANA has gained significant credibility in both the nutritional and financial worlds, with more and more accolades coming in on a regular basis. Eventually, your social media contacts are going to come across these accolades, and one of your goals should be to capitalize on this credibility by making sure that as many people as possible think of you whenever they think of USANA. </p>
<p>We use social media services as just one of many tools in our business building tool box, and do not rely on them as a primary business building method. As with any other business building method, becoming effective with social media involves a learning curve. Start slowly by setting up your online presence and exploring the services you are using. Become familiar with all of their features and policies so that you can become a good “citizen” of the social media communities you become a part of.</p>
<p>It is also important for you to have an online presence separate and apart from social media sites. A good example would be a USANA webhosting site. Make sure that your webhosting site is as professional, attractive and interesting as possible. When a social media contact asks you for more information about USANA, you will then have a place to send them, and information to share, prior to speaking with them on the phone or in person.  </p>
<p>Most of all, be patient. It takes time to develop a group of friends and followers on social media sites, but it can definitely pay off over the long term.     <br />

<p>There is no single way to grow your business.  I would suggest you go through your training manual first and work with your up line to learn the rope. When you have some success talking and closing in your prospects, you must know how to lead the new associates to know the marketing system including your training program so that they will be confident to duplicate the system.</p>
<p>Some of us will expand the business into the Internet and do both direct marketing the &#8216;traditional&#8217; way and with the Internet.</p>
<p>Whatever it is, here is a list of group of people which you should be aware and if you understand this concept well, you will be wise on how to spend your precious time and thus will reap more results with your time.</p>
<p>I thought the message below is most relevant to the tropic.</p>
<p>The 80/20 Rule as explained by Pete Zdanis, who is one of the top earners in USANA, a Direct Marketing company.</p>
<p>Like the rest of life, the &#8220;80/20&#8243; rule applies in our business: &#8220;20% of the people produce 80% of the results.&#8221;</p>
<p>As we have said so many times over, our job is to find &#8220;motivated entrepreneurs&#8221;. It is my opinion that motivation comes from within, and we cannot, nor should we, &#8220;drag people across the finish line&#8221; if they are not willing to help themselves.</p>
<p>We, too, have found that 80% of the people in our group have done little, if anything, to build their business or help themselves. However, the other 20% have helped us build an outstanding USANA business while attaining all of their goals with USANA.</p>
<p>We have found that people usually fall into one of several categories:<br />
 <br />
The Procrastinators &#8211; They&#8217;ll begin building their business &#8220;when they get around to it.&#8221; They never find the time because they never make the time.<br />
The Know-It-Alls &#8211; These people don&#8217;t take the time to &#8220;read the instructions&#8221; (The Business Development System). It&#8217;s beneath them to take the time to learn from those who have built successful USANA businesses, even though the path to success is laid out for them right under their nose. They couldn&#8217;t tell you the difference between a Business Centre, Sales Volume Point and Group Sales Volume.<br />
The Paralysis By Analysis Victims &#8211; These people are constantly in &#8220;getting ready to get ready&#8221; mode. They are always searching for that perfect &#8220;system&#8221; that will magically build their business for them. They&#8217;ll never find it because it doesn&#8217;t exist.<br />
The Tryers &#8211; They say that they will &#8220;try&#8221; the business to see how they do. Their mentality gives them permission to quit at the first sign of difficulty. You don&#8217;t &#8220;try&#8221; a parachute jump. You either do it, or you don&#8217;t. The same is true of our business. You either do it, or you don&#8217;t.<br />
 </p>
<p>The Whiners &#8211; Constantly complaining about minor details which have no impact on their ability to succeed in USANA. &#8220;If only these were different or that were different, I know I could make money in USANA.&#8221; While these people are whining, there are thousands of people advancing in rank in USANA every month.<br />
Finally, there are:</p>
<p>Motivated Entrepreneurs &#8211; These people &#8220;get it&#8221;. They know what the company&#8217;s unique selling points. For example, the USANA&#8217;s products and compensation plan are unequalled in the business. They set their goals, they develop a plan to reach their goals, and they go on about their business to work their plan. They advance in their USANA business while helping other people do the same. They make things happen while the other 80% are wondering what happened.</p>
<p>My advice, don&#8217;t try to motivate the unmotivated. Instead use your time to find, sponsor and train &#8220;motivated entrepreneurs&#8221;.</p>
<p>Show them how to succeed, and then get out of their way!</p>

&#8216;Yearning&#8217; means &#8216;a persistent longing&#8217;. Your dreams that wont go away. Its the stuff you REALLY want. It hurts not having them. They are your true motivators of action for success. WHAT do you really &#8216;yearn&#8217; for?<br />

And then we must &#8216;learn&#8217; BEFORE we &#8216;earn&#8217;.<br />

97% of people in this business do not learn enough before they focus on earning. As they are incompetent they do not &#8216;earn&#8217; enough to make them believe the business will satisfy their yearning. So they stop.<br />

They do this stupidity because their upline does not know how to help someone learn properly. A skill called Coaching.<br />
 <br />
It is the ONLY reason.<br />
 <br />
[97% of] &#8216;People&#8217; DO NOT learn on their own. The manuals, videos/DVDs, meetings dont give them enough. They need INDIVIDUAL COACHING. or they will fail to be a success as a team builder.<br />

The word between &#8216;yearning&#8217; [the reason why you joined this industry] and &#8216;earning&#8217; [the income that will satisfy your 'yearning'] is &#8216;learning&#8217;&#8230;&#8230; never forget that.<br />

We then developed a scoring and ranking system that tracks how the 3,000 largest companies &#8220;move&#8221; or &#8220;migrate&#8221; relative to one another with respect to achieving significant growth, while simultaneously mitigating risk. The system scores companies in nine locations on a diagonal axis, as shown in Exhibit 1. Essentially, small cap value companies (location 1, the bottom right corner) can become high quality growth stocks (location 9, upper left-hand corner) in two ways, by maintaining or continuing above average growth and/or by lowering fundamental risk factors.</h4>

<p>The hierarchy of success</p>
<p>I think it looks like this:</p>
<p>Attitude<br />
Approach<br />
Goals<br />
Strategy<br />
Tactics<br />
Execution</p>
<p>We spend all our time on execution. Use this word instead of that one. This web host. That color. This material or that frequency of mailing.</p>
<p>Big news: No one ever succeeded because of execution tactics learned from a Dummies book.</p>
<p>Tactics tell you what to execute. They&#8217;re important, but dwarfed by strategy. Strategy determines which tactics might work.</p>
<p>But what&#8217;s the point of a strategy if your goals aren&#8217;t clear, or contradict?</p>
<p>Which leads the first two, the two we almost never hear about.</p>
<p>Approach determines how you look at the project (or your career). Do you read a lot of books? Ask a lot of questions? Use science and testing or go with your hunches? Are you imperious? A lifehacker? When was the last time you admitted an error and made a dramatic course correction? Most everyone has a style, and if you pick the wrong one, then all the strategy, tactics and execution in the world won&#8217;t work nearly as well.</p>
<p>As far as I&#8217;m concerned, the most important of all, the top of the hierarchy is attitude. Why are you doing this at all? What&#8217;s your bias in dealing with people and problems?</p>
<p>Some more questions:</p>
<p>How do you deal with failure?<br />
When will you quit?<br />
How do you treat competitors?<br />
What personality are you looking for in the people you hire?<br />
What&#8217;s it like to work for you? Why? Is that a deliberate choice?<br />
What sort of decisions do you you make when no one is looking?<br />
Sure, you can start at the bottom by focusing on execution and credentials. Reading a typical blog (or going to a typical school for 16 years), it seems like that&#8217;s what you&#8217;re supposed to do. What a waste.</p>
<p>Isn&#8217;t it odd that these six questions are so important and yet we almost never talk or write about them?</p>
<p>If the top of the hierarchy is messed up, no amount of brilliant tactics or execution is going to help you at all.<br />

<p>The link below is an interview that occurred BEFORE Larry King took the stage at USANA&#8217;s 2009 Convention.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a 23 minute interview by a local TV station, of Larry King, Dr. Myron Wentz, Tim Sales  and is a wonderful and worthwhile view. Larry King is hysterical and Tim Sales and Dr. Wentz show their humor during this lighthearted interview.</p>

<p>Tim Sales,&#8221;There&#8217;s quite a buzz going around because I sat down with Larry King at a network marketing company&#8217;s convention and explained to him how and why M.L.M is NOT a pyramid or a Ponzi scheme&#8230;and he understood it.</p>
<p>I believe that part of his trust in me was my honesty that there are things about M.L.M that need correction. Meaning, some of the concerns he brought up I agreed with and told him that I was working on correcting those things but those things do not make it a pyramid scheme, Ponzi scheme or a scam.</p>
<p>He liked my purpose in getting factual truth known by people and the media.&#8221;</p>
<p>In case you don&#8217;t know, Larry King has interviewed over 40,000 celebrities. From every President of the United States since the Ford Administration to Vladimir Putin (second President to Russia) to Tony Blair (former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom).</p>
<p>He had recently been scammed for millions by Bernard Madoff&#8217;s investment Ponzi scheme. He was appreciative of Tim Sales candid conversation and he understood clearly the differentiation between a Ponzi scheme, pyramid scheme and a legitimate M.L.M business. Up until that time, it was not clear to him.<br />
